After more than a year, Phuket finally opens its borders this month to tourists from abroad. We wish their wedding industry well and hope that destination weddings will once again take centrestage at its many resorts.

Whilst our own borders remain closed, soon-to-be-wed couples can always start doing research on destination weddings in Phuket now, perhaps for a celebration sometime next year. Check out the resorts, beach clubs and restaurants, all potential venues to host an exchange of vows and wedding reception. Look out too for locations throughout the island which may be spectacular backdrops for wedding photography. Or if you plan to tie-the-knot here at home, Phuket is also ready to welcome you on your honeymoon.

Some suggestions :
- It is very likely that hotels and resorts would be offering special deals to kickstart tourism in Phuket, so do take a closer look at what the offers are as well as their validity. Perhaps you may even score a great wedding package that can be redeemed next year.
- For those who may intend to work with local vendors at source, do connect virtually with the many wedding specialists on the island too.

Tip : Head to Tourism Authority Of Thailand for more ideas as well as information on nuptials in Thailand. Check out the wedding photography work of Daniel Baci Photography as well.
