Wedding planners Eventistry found these nuptials to be extremely meaningful … ‘Lydia and Zare officially tied the knot on a Saturday in the presence of their closest family. Laidback and casual, the couple registered their marriage at a local temple in Melaka, followed by a simple tea ceremony in the comfort of home. A minimal and scaled down setup unveiled the heart of this very meaningful day. Strict Covid restrictions at the time brought about heart-tugging compromises. The joyous occasion had to be scaled down and the pair spent their first day as a married couple with only their immediate family. No grand celebration, no fancy décor, no jam-packed itinerary, and yet it was enough; just the couple, their family, and a whole lot of love. Back home, Lydia’s dad serenaded the newlyweds with his harmonica during the tea ceremony session. The family teared up when Zare’s brother presented his gift to the newlyweds – his very own wedding gift from their late grandmother that he has decided to pass on to the couple. Having just lost her a few months ago, Zare couldn’t hold back his tears thinking of her. Close friends and family also conveyed their heartfelt wishes to the newlyweds through video calls. Lydia and Zare also gave out homemade nougat wedding favours personally prepared by a close family friend’.
